dwayne martin This a powerful and excellently paced album by a dedicated singer/songwriter. I heard many of these songs on an acoustic guitar recently. The same songs on this album pop out at you with the full band and excellent production. This album is a keeper. Favorite track: Die With Me.

Die With Me 03:53
Shattered Glass all over the floor Bloody footprints walk your path out the back door At the station a man is waiting, tickets for two A great escaped plan for him and you I know trust was not The right word for us Ya, but when you're gone Your secrets will die with me They’ll die with me Somewhere a child screams Nobody knows what it means All over this town Your dark shadow has been running round Now i know, trust was not The right word for us Ooooh but when you're gone Your secrets will die with me They’ll die with me Cold surprise when morning comes Sirens in the new sun Guilty by proximity Left here to spoil and rot Oh i know, trust was not the right word for us Oh but when you’re gone Your secrets will die with me they’ll die with me they’ll die with me

How Long 03:29
How long, how long has it been? so long now i don’t remember when I could have used a good friend way back then Oh, how long has been? We buried her on the hill The air was cold and the sky was still I don’t think i ever will Go back up on that hill When i turned 18 i went on the road Searching for you and the live that you stole That’s what they talk about when our story’s told Down that long twisted road Finally i returned to our home Clearly i was all alone Crawled up the stairs and turned on some rolling stones Here, in our abandoned home Someday you will bury me on that hill It’s inevitable i know you will All those dreams going unfulfilled Won’t you please bury me on that hill But before i die, I will raise my fist up the sky I will ask your god why Promise you this before i die Promise you this before i die So how long has it been? So long i don’t remember when I could have used you way back when How long, how long has it been?

Civilized 02:28
I tried, and tried, n tried to be civilized but you would not have me that way i cried and cried and cried to the glory in the sky never received my reply in the heart of the shadow lies the soul of the quiet it’s only frightened by the light of day it’s a shame, shame shame that the light has came frightened all of the quiet away... away i lied and lied and lied to my family i lied i could find no other words to say goodbye goodbye goodbye goodbye cruel world i have no other use for you

someday you will see you were meant to be a star up in the sky and on the ocean wide you were meant to guide the whole of us home someday you will find that fire in your mind is the fuel of your dreams someday you will know peace in your soul be as one at last Someday my love, you will know you are the light of my life someday you will see you were meant to be
5.
Vampire 03:26
Maybe i’ll die like a vampire that’s all i really know i tried to find a different way but i couldn’t let go i still to watch the fire burn i still like to see the night fill up with smoke i like the feeling when i start to choke spend my last five dollars on a four dollar hamburger at 3am split it, with you, again give that bit of change to the homeless man he’s free’er then i will ever be free’er then i will ever be maybe i’ll die like a vampire it’s all i really know tried to find someone nobody would show i still like to watch the fire burn oh i still like to see the night fill up with smoke i like the feeling as i start to turn as i start to choke

about

John L keck Kansas City, Missouri

I write from personal experience on the whole, and even when I’m telling a tale, its grounded in something that's happened to me... a sliver of time in the crazy ride that has been my life. Hopefully that comes through honestly .I write about everything, often about love or emotions surrounding relationships, those seem to be the songs that people respond to the most. ... more
